Figma Payment Failed? Fix Figma Card Declined and Failed Renewals (Files Locked), and Pay Figma with a Prepaid Virtual Card (USDT / USDC) — 2026

Figma payment failed or card declined? How Figma bills Professional seats (Full $20, Dev $15, Collab $5 a month; $16 / $12 / $3 on annual, tax extra), why cards get refused (foreign charges, billing address, balance below the taxed total, annual plans charging a full year at once, repeated retries), what happens when a renewal fails (retries for up to 21 days, then view-only), how to retry with Change payment method, real charge data from our own cards, and how to pay Figma from USDT or USDC with a prepaid virtual card. Updated October 2026.

Figma payment failed, short answer: Figma Professional is paid by credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), in USD, per paid seat, with tax added for your billing address. A Figma payment usually fails because the bank refuses a foreign online charge, the billing address does not match, the balance covers the list price but not the price plus tax, an annual plan tries to charge a whole year at once, or the same card was retried too many times. If a renewal fails, Figma keeps retrying for up to 21 days and then locks the team to view-only until a payment goes through. Fix the balance and address, then use Change payment method once. If your local card does not work, a prepaid virtual card bought with USDT or USDC, such as Pink Card from pinkcard.cc, can be saved in your own Figma team.

Written by the Pink Card team (pinkcard.cc). Figma billing rules are taken from the Figma help center (Pay for Figma, guide to billing, seats on the Professional plan) and figma.com/pricing as of October 2026 and may change; the checkout page shows the exact amount. Pink Card fees are those shown on the purchase page on 2026-10-16. Pink Card is not affiliated with Figma.

How Figma charges

  • Professional plan, billed per paid seat: Full seat $20 a month on monthly billing or $16 a month billed annually ($192 a year); Dev seat $15 or $12; Collab seat $5 or $3. Starter is free.
  • Tax is added at checkout based on your billing address, so the charge is higher than the list price (for example $20 plus 20% VAT is $24.00).
  • Annual billing charges the full year in one payment. Adding a paid seat mid-term creates a separate prorated charge.
  • Payment methods: Professional is paid by card; PayPal is only offered in some countries. Organization and Enterprise can pay by invoice through sales.
  • Renewals charge the card saved in the team’s Settings, on the date shown under Billing.

Why Figma declines a card

  1. The issuing bank refuses the charge. Many banks block foreign online payments by default, and checkout only says the payment failed.
  2. Billing address mismatch. The country and postal code are checked against the issuer, and they also decide the tax.
  3. The balance covers the list price but not the total. Tax, extra seats, or switching to annual billing push the charge above what you loaded.
  4. An annual plan on a small card. A full year of one Full seat is $192 before tax, so a card loaded for one month cannot pay it.
  5. Too many attempts. Retrying the same card again and again, or switching between several cards in a few minutes, triggers risk checks. Waiting is usually the only fix.
  6. The payment form does not load. Try another browser and turn off ad blockers; that is not a card problem.

What happens when a Figma renewal fails

According to the Figma help center, Figma keeps trying to collect a failed subscription payment for up to 21 days. If it still fails, the team is locked: you can view files but not edit them, until a payment succeeds and access is restored. There is no separate retry button. To retry, open the team’s Settings, choose Change payment method and enter the card again (the same card after you top it up, or a new one); Figma then attempts every outstanding invoice right away. On a prepaid card, every failed automatic retry can also cost a failed-transaction fee, so fix the balance the day you get the failure email instead of waiting for Figma to retry.

Fix it in this order

  1. Stop clicking Pay. Read the email or Billing page to see which charge failed: a renewal, a prorated seat charge, or a new subscription.
  2. Work out the taxed total for every paid seat, monthly or annual, and make sure the card balance covers it plus about $1 if your prepaid card charges per transaction.
  3. Check the card number, expiry, CVV and billing address exactly as the issuer has it.
  4. Use Change payment method in the team’s Settings and submit once. That retries the outstanding invoice immediately.
  5. If the same card fails two or three times, stop for several hours before trying again, or use a different card.

Does a prepaid virtual card work for Figma?

We checked Figma charges (merchant FIGMA SAN FRANCISCO) on our own cards. One Pink Card paid Figma $24.00 on 2026-08-18 and again on 2026-09-18, both successful: a monthly Full seat at $20 plus 20% VAT. We also saw two declines on 2026-10-14, $209.04 each, five seconds apart, on a different card loaded with only $10. $209.04 is an annual Full seat ($192) plus tax, so the card simply did not have the balance; our card reports that as “greater than the maximum single transaction value”, because a card’s single-transaction limit follows its balance. Both retries were charged the failed-transaction fee. The sample is small, so we cannot promise every card and every charge will pass; keep the balance above the full taxed total.

Pay Figma with a prepaid virtual card (USDT or USDC)

  1. Open pinkcard.cc/en and choose an amount: presets start at $110 ($110, $220, $500, $1000), or enter a custom amount from $100.
  2. Pay with USDT on BEP-20 (shown as BSC or BNB Smart Chain on most exchanges; network fee usually under $1) or ERC-20, or with USDC on ERC-20. Send exactly the amount shown, on exactly the network you picked.
  3. Enter your email twice. No account and no sign-up are needed.
  4. The card number, expiry, CVV and billing address arrive by email about 1–2 minutes after the payment confirms (check spam).
  5. In Figma, open your team, choose Upgrade or Change payment method, enter the card with the billing address from the email, check the taxed total and submit once.
  6. Before each renewal, top up the same card. The number does not change, so Figma keeps charging it. Top-ups usually reach the card within about 30 minutes of payment, so top up before you pay, not right after a decline.

How much to load (worked examples)

  • One Full seat, monthly, with 20% VAT: $24 + $1 per transaction + $2.50 monthly card fee = $27.50 a month, so a $110 card covers about four months. Without tax: $20 + $1 + $2.50 = $23.50 a month.
  • One Full seat, annual: $192 before tax; with tax our cardholder was charged $209.04. Add $1 and the first $2.50 monthly fee and you need about $213, so pick the $220 preset: ($220 + $10) × 1.03 = $236.90.
  • One Dev seat, monthly: $15 + tax + $1 per transaction.
  • Paying for a $110 card: ($110 + $10) × 1.03 = $123.60. Topping up $100 later: $5 + ($100 + $5) × 5% = $10.25 in fees, $110.25 in total.

Pink Card fees (as of 2026-10-16)

  • Card issuance: $10 one-time, plus a 3% service fee on (card amount + $10).
  • From the card balance after activation: $1 per transaction and $2.50 per month.
  • Failed authorizations are charged $1 too (at most 3 failed charges per card per month), so keep the balance above the next renewal and do not retry a declined card in a loop.
  • Top-up of the same card: $5 plus 5% of (top-up amount + $5), usually on the card within about 30 minutes. Full fee table: pinkcard.cc/en/fees.
  • Once the card details are emailed, the order cannot be cancelled, so double-check your email address before paying.
Before you stop using a card, replace it under Change payment method or downgrade the team to Starter, so renewals do not keep failing on a closed card and lock your files. Pink Card is a payment tool and does not replace complying with Figma’s terms.

FAQ

Why does Figma say my payment failed?

Usually your bank refuses foreign online charges, the billing address does not match, or the balance does not cover the taxed total for every paid seat (an annual plan charges the whole year at once). Fix those, wait a few hours after two declines, and pay once.

What happens if my Figma payment fails?

Figma retries for up to 21 days. If it still cannot charge you, the team becomes view-only until a payment succeeds. Use Change payment method in the team’s Settings to retry right away.

How do I retry a failed Figma payment?

There is no retry button. Open the team’s Settings, choose Change payment method and enter the card again (or a new card). Figma then attempts all outstanding invoices immediately.

Can I pay Figma with USDT or crypto?

Not directly. You can buy a prepaid virtual card with USDT (BEP-20 or ERC-20) or USDC (ERC-20) at pinkcard.cc and save it in your Figma team.

Does Figma accept prepaid virtual cards?

On our own cards, one Pink Card paid two monthly Figma charges of $24.00 with no declines; another card with only $10 on it was declined for a $209.04 annual charge because the balance was too low. The sample is small, so it is not guaranteed for every card; load the full taxed total and submit once.
