Short answer: Gemini’s paid plan, Google AI Pro (the plan formerly called Gemini Advanced), is billed through Google One and Google Payments, not inside the Gemini app. A Gemini payment is usually declined because the country of your Google payments profile does not match the card, the card fails Google’s verification hold, the billing address is wrong, or the balance does not cover the renewal. Stop after two failed attempts, line up the payments profile country, billing address and balance, and retry once. If your local card does not work with Google, a prepaid virtual card bought with USDT or USDC, such as Pink Card from pinkcard.cc, can be added to your own Google account.
Written by the Pink Card team (pinkcard.cc). Google prices are US list prices as of October 2026 and differ by country (check gemini.google/subscriptions or one.google.com for your price); Pink Card fees are those shown on the purchase page on 2026-10-12. Pink Card is not affiliated with Google.
What Google charges for Gemini
- Google AI Pro: $19.99 per month in the US. This is the plan that unlocks the stronger Gemini models in the Gemini app, Gemini in Gmail and Docs, and extra Google One storage. New subscribers are sometimes offered a free trial; a card is still required, and the first charge runs automatically when the trial ends.
- Google AI Plus (a cheaper tier, not offered in every country) and Google AI Ultra (a much more expensive tier) are billed the same way. Prices, tiers and trials vary by country.
- Tax for your billing country may be added on top of the list price.
- The plan renews monthly on your billing date. If the renewal fails, Google retries for a while; if it keeps failing, the paid features stop.
Web, Android or iPhone?
- Web (gemini.google.com or one.google.com): billed to the card in your Google payments profile (pay.google.com). This is where a prepaid virtual card is added.
- Android: the upgrade is billed by Google Play, which uses the same Google payments profile, so the same card and the same country rules apply.
- iPhone or iPad: if you subscribe inside the iOS app, Apple bills it and it is managed in your Apple ID subscriptions, not in Google One.
- Do not subscribe twice. Check one.google.com first to see whether a plan is already active and where it was bought.
Why Google declines a card for Gemini
- Payments profile country does not match. Your Google payments profile has a fixed country. If the card was issued for a different region, or the profile country is one where Google AI Pro is not sold, checkout fails with a generic error whatever card you try.
- The card fails the verification hold. When you add a card, Google places a small temporary authorization (it shows up as GOOGLE *TEMPORARY HOLD and is released automatically). If the card blocks that hold, the card is never added.
- Billing address mismatch. The name, address and postal code in the payments profile are checked against the issuer. A wrong postal code is a common silent decline.
- Card type refused. Google says some card types are not accepted for some purchases, and some banks refuse recurring or foreign USD charges. The balance does not matter here; the decline happens before any money moves.
- Balance does not cover the renewal. The monthly charge plus tax must be on the card on the billing date. On our own cards, this is the most common reason Google One charges fail.
- Too many attempts. Retrying the same card again and again, or switching between several cards in a few minutes, can trigger Google’s risk checks and errors such as OR-CCSEH-05. Waiting is usually the only fix.
Fix it in this order
- Stop clicking Subscribe. Note the exact error text or code.
- Open pay.google.com and check the payments profile country and address. The country must match the card’s billing address and be a country where Google AI Pro is offered.
- Remove old, closed or empty cards from the payments profile so Google does not keep trying them.
- Make sure the balance covers the monthly price plus tax, plus about $1 if your prepaid card charges per transaction, plus room for the temporary verification hold.
- Re-enter the card with the billing address exactly as the issuer has it, keep one stable network location consistent with the profile country during checkout, and submit once.
- If it still fails, wait several hours (or a day after an OR-CCSEH-05 type error) before trying again, or use a different card.
Does a prepaid virtual card work for Gemini?
We checked Google charges on our own cards. Google’s card-verification holds were approved on 61 Pink Cards. For Google One (the billing name used for Google AI Pro), 10 cards held by 8 customers had 22 successful charges between April and September 2026, most often $19.99. Of the failed Google One charges, about two-thirds happened after the card balance ran out, and most of the rest were renewals on cards that had already been closed. A few were refused by Google’s or the issuer’s rules, so we cannot promise every card and every charge will pass; start with a modest amount and do not retry a decline repeatedly.
Pay Gemini with a prepaid virtual card (USDT or USDC)
- Open pinkcard.cc/en and choose an amount: presets start at $110 ($110, $220, $500, $1000), or enter a custom amount from $100.
- Pay with USDT on BEP-20 (shown as BSC or BNB Smart Chain on most exchanges; network fee usually under $1) or ERC-20, or with USDC on ERC-20. Send exactly the amount shown, on exactly the network you picked.
- Enter your email twice. No account and no sign-up are needed.
- The card number, expiry, CVV and billing address arrive by email about 1–2 minutes after the payment confirms (check spam).
- In pay.google.com, add the card with the billing address from the email. Then open one.google.com or the Gemini app upgrade page, pick Google AI Pro, check the final amount and submit once.
- Before the balance runs low, top up the same card. The number does not change, so Google keeps renewing without re-adding the card. Top-ups usually reach the card within about 30 minutes of payment.
How much to load (worked examples)
- Google AI Pro monthly: $19.99 × 1.2 (tax headroom) + $1 per transaction + $2.50 monthly card fee ≈ $27.50 per month, so the $110 preset covers about 4 months; with no tax at checkout it is $23.49 per month, a little over 4 months.
- Google AI Plus, where offered at $4.99: $4.99 × 1.2 + $1 + $2.50 ≈ $9.50 per month, so $110 covers about 11 months.
- Paying for a $110 card: ($110 + $10) × 1.03 = $123.60 in USDT or USDC.
- Topping up $100 later: $5 + ($100 + $5) × 5% = $10.25 in fees, $110.25 in total.
Pink Card fees (as of 2026-10-12)
- Card issuance: $10 one-time, plus a 3% service fee on (card amount + $10).
- From the card balance after activation: $1 per transaction and $2.50 per month.
- Failed authorizations are charged $1 too (at most 3 failed charges per card per month). Google’s automatic renewal retries count, so keep the balance up or cancel before the card runs dry.
- Top-up of the same card: $5 plus 5% of (top-up amount + $5), usually on the card within about 30 minutes. Full fee table: pinkcard.cc/en/fees.
- Once the card details are emailed, the order cannot be cancelled, so double-check your email address before paying.
